For families
Planning together, with the person at the centre.
Families often carry a lot of the planning. Here is how involvement works, and how the participant stays central to decisions.
The questions families usually ask
Involvement is guided by the participant's wishes, their consent and any lawful decision-making arrangements.
Will the person be listened to?
Yes. Planning starts with the participant's own goals, interests and preferences, and their voice stays central throughout. We use the communication method that works for them, and we allow time for choice-making.
Can family or chosen supporters be involved?
Yes, in the way the participant wants. Involvement is guided by the participant's wishes, their consent, and any lawful decision-making arrangements that apply. Family is not the default decision-maker.
How are communication and consent handled?
We record preferred communication methods and who may be contacted about what. Consent is explicit and can be changed. We ask for sensitive information only where it is genuinely needed, and we explain why.
How are suitability, risks and contingencies considered?
We work through the whole journey, not just the destination: travel days, pacing, rest, equipment, routines, what could change and what would help if it did. Contingencies and points of contact are written down.
Who coordinates travel and who may provide disability support?
Your Accessible Travel coordinates the travel experience. Where eligible disability supports are required, Your Accessible Care - a registered NDIS provider - may assess and deliver them under a separate service agreement, subject to operational availability.
How will costs and agreements be separated?
Travel costs are contracted and invoiced by Your Accessible Travel. Eligible disability support costs, where applicable, are separately assessed, contracted and invoiced by Your Accessible Care. You will see which is which before committing.
What happens if an experience is not suitable?
We will say so honestly, explain why, and suggest adjustments or an alternative. We would rather have that conversation early than proceed with something that will not work.
